Isaac and his family emigrated from the former Soviet Union to Ottawa in 1980.

Since 1980 Isaac worked for the next 30 years in Ottawa Hi-Tech companies as an Electronics Engineer. Now he is retired.

Since childhood, Isaac learned mostly from his parents many Yiddish songs and since then the Jewish music became his passionate hobby.

Since coming to Canada in 1980, Isaac became actively involved in Ottawa Jewish Community life. He performed as a part of a group as well as soloist at many SJCC related functions and is an active volunteer for Hillel Lodge, Chevra Kadisha, AJA 50+, Creative Connections, Jewish Family Services, Hadassa, Na’amat and other organizations.

As a guest, he also performed and continues to perform:

in Toronto (Betel Centre, retirement homes, such as Baycrest, and other venues), in Montreal (Mame Loshen Club, retirement homes, such as Montefiori, Jewish Public Library, Russian Club, synagogues and other venues), in South Florida (retirement communities, such as Deerfield Century Village, synagogues and other venues). He used to sing with Ottawa’s choirs “Shiru Lach” and “Musica Ebraica” as well as with Agudath Israel Synagogue choir.

In July 2015 after 35 years in Ottawa, Isaac and his wife Mara moved to Toronto to be closer to their kids and grandkids. Now they reside in Thornhill area of GTA.

In Isaac’s repertoire there are songs in Yiddish, Hebrew, Ladino, Russian, Gypsy, English.

He accompanies himself on the guitar and also plays violin.

In August 2011 Isaac released a CD of Yiddish songs and dedicated it to the memory of his parents Gersh & Tsipoira Muzikansky. He called the CD “My Parents’ Favorite Yiddish Songs”.
